Because you care about our textile community.

Creating is our superpower and community is our rock, especially during these uncertain and troubling times. Today, we’re creating in isolation and interacting virtually, but we’re looking forward to once again gathering freely at the SEFAA Center to learn and be inspired. And, that’s where you come in. Your financial support will pay the rent and utilities ($3,300 per month) while regular programming is suspended. Your gift will ensure that the SEFAA Center reopens when it is safe to do so.

Why is that important? Because we share joy in making, a love of creativity, and a passion for textiles. We normally attend open studio sessions, classes and workshops, textile exhibits, tours, sales, and events - together. Now, we’re sheltering-in-place and using our talents, time, and materials to make masks. Together, we’ve made thousands of surgical masks for hospital use. Some, like Marian, stitched special messages into the masks they made.

You are SEFAA and you are our rock. You are the reason we will emerge from this crisis stronger, more resilient, and more connected. You are the reason we will continue to do amazing things together.

PS Want to maximize your support?

  1. Select the monthly giving option. Doing so minimizes the amount you give at one time, and it helps stabilize SEFAA’s cash flow.
  2. Ask ten of your favorite people to give, too. They know you, they trust you, and they’ll support SEFAA because they know it is important to you.

PPS For nearly eleven years SEFAA has thrived as an all-volunteer organization. That is good because it limits our current financial exposure; it is bad because it makes us ineligible for both Federal Payroll Protection Plan and Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund funding. We have, however, just received a $1,000 grant from the Small Business Administration, and we will continue to apply for all funding we do qualify for.
